Jeff Fisher Chooses the Rams

Today, Jeff Fisher chose to sign with the St. Louis Rams to become their Head Coach according to sources. One source has said that Fisher wanted to have a split of personnel control with Ireland and Ross did not want to grant it to him. Ross made it clear that Ireland was to remain the GM and have clear control over personnel decisions. In St. Louis, Fisher would have the ability to pick his own GM and have some control over personnel decisions. Even though Fisher would have had a greater salary in Miami, Fisher chose to have more power within an organization. The Dolphins will continue their coaching search by interviewing an unnamed candidate this Saturday.

Jeff Fisher and Dave Toub to Interview for Head Coaching Position

The Miami Dolphins have annonced that Jeff Fisher will interview for the Head Coaching position on either Tuesday or Wednesday of this week and Dave Toub will interview sometime later this week.

Jeff Fisher was previously the Head Coach of the Tennessee Titans and compiled a 142-120-1 record and one AFC Championship during his 15 year tenure.

Dave Toub is the Special Teams Coordinator of one of the best special teams units in the NFL in Chicago since 2004 sending returner Devin Hester, Kicker Robbie Gould, and Gunner Brendon Ayanbadejo to Pro Bowls.

2012 Draft Sleepers

The 2012 Draft is looking to be one of the deepest drafts in a while with most positions being 5-7 quality players deep. With the deepness of the draft, comes alot of players who will slide or will be slightly forgotten about. Here are some players that I feel will be real sleeper picks come draft time.

Brandon Weeden - QB - Oklahoma State
6-4 218 lbs.

Weeden is a terrific passer in the Cowboys' spread attack. He is also one of, if not, the most accurate passer in college football. He is definately up there in the ranks of Kellen Moore, Andrew Luck, and Robert Griffin in terms of statistical dominance. The only major (and I mean major) knock on Weeden is that he is already 28 years old. He spent 4 years in Minor League baseball after being drafted in the second round of the 2002 MLB draft by the Ney York Yankees. He also redshirted his in the first year he got to Oklahoma State. That means he is older than both Matt Moore and Chad Henne and he hasn't played a single down in the NFL yet. A team that needs consistent QB play immediatly is going to take a chance on him and in my opinion, is going to end up with a pretty good QB in the late rounds.

2011 Stats
379 - 522 73% Completion Rate 4,328 Yards 34 TDs 12 Ints

Bruce Irvin - OLB/DE - West Virginia
6-2 245 lbs.

Bruce's story is an inspiring one as he is a former high school dropout who is now an NFL prospect. Bruce got his GED and played his first two years of football in Junior College. West Virginia noticed his immense talent for getting to the Quarterback and offered him a scholarship to play OLB. In his first year with the program, Bruce registered 14 sacks which was top 5 in the nation. One thing that jumps out at you when you see him play is his quickness off of the line and his speed. He is a very explosive player. He reminds me alot of Von Miller in Denver with his aggressiveness and speed. Although Bruce is probably not as strong as Miller, he moves justs as fast, or even faster.

2011 Stats
38 Tkls 7.5 Sacks

I couldn't find any video of him from 2011, so here is a video the bowl game from his Junior season.

Duke Ihenacho - SS - San Jose State
6-1 205 lbs.

Duke is just one of those players who has a nose for the football. He is one of the best Safteties in college football when it comes to stopping the run. When the play is over, he is guarenteed to be one of the closest guys to the ball. He covers ground well, has decent speed and is a hard hitter. In coverage, his timing and breaking ability on balls are very impressive. He breaks up alot of pass plays. He is very aggressive and plays with a mean streak but, some negatives from this positive is that he takes alot of chances and sometimes can get suckered into biting on the play fake.

2011 Stats
73 Tkls 40 Solo 2 FF 1 Int

Jeff Demps - RB/WR/KR - Florida
5-8 191 lbs.

What if I told you Demps is one of the fastest players in college football? Now, what if I told you Demps is one of the fastest PEOPLE in the WORLD? Yes, Demps has world class sprinters speed and was clocked at 9.96 one in the 100m. Of course with pads on, its another different story, but what intrigues me is that Demps is just as quick laterally as he is fast and has pretty good vision as a ball carrier. He is just a terrific athlete. He is only 5-8 but is very solid and can take hits at 191 pounds. I can easily see him becoming a Darren Sproles/Percy Harvin type of weapon in the NFL.

2011 Stats
